حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو تَوْبَةَ يَعْنِي الرَّبِيعَ بْنَ نَافِعٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْمَلِيحِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنِ الْوَلِيدِ بْنِ زَوْرَانَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ أَنَسٍ يَعْنِي ابْنَ مَالِكٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏ أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ إِذَا تَوَضَّأَ أَخَذَ كَفًّا مِنْ مَاءٍ فَأَدْخَلَهُ تَحْتَ حَنَكِهِ فَخَلَّلَ بِهِ لِحْيَتَهُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَقَالَ:‏‏‏‏ هَكَذَا أَمَرَنِي رَبِّي عَزَّ وَجَلَّ ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ أَبُو دَاوُد، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَالْوَلِيدُ بْنُ زَوْرَانَ:‏‏‏‏ رَوَى عَنْهُ حَجَّاجُ بْنُ حَجَّاجٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَأَبُو الْمَلِيحِ الرَّقِّيُّ.

Whenever the Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم performed ablution, he took a handful of water, and, putting it under his chin, made it go through his beard, saying: Thus did my Lord command me.
