حَدَّثَنَا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا جَرِيرٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ مَنْصُورٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ هِلَالِ بْنِ يَسَافٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ فَرْوَةَ بْنِ نَوْفَلٍ الْأَشْجَعِيِّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ سَأَلْتُ عَائِشَةَ أُمَّ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ عَمَّا كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَدْعُو بِهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَتْ:‏‏‏‏ كَانَ يَقُولُ:‏‏‏‏ اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ شَرِّ مَا عَمِلْتُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَمِنْ شَرِّ مَا لَمْ أَعْمَلْ .

Aishah رضی اللہ عنہا the Mother of the Believers, about the supplication of the Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم. She replied: He would say: 'O Allah, I seek refuge in You from the evil of what I have done, and from the evil of what I have not done. '
