حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ كَثِيرٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ هُوَ الثَّوْرِيُّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ مَنْصُورٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ سُفْيَانَ بْنِ الْحَكَمِ الثَّقَفِيِّ أَوِ الْحَكَمِ بْنِ سُفْيَانَ الثَّقَفِيِّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِذَا بَالَ يَتَوَضَّأُ وَيَنْتَضِحُ ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ أَبُو دَاوُد:‏‏‏‏ وَافَقَ سُفْيَانَ جَمَاعَةٌ عَلَى هَذَا الْإِسْنَادِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وقَالَ بَعْضُهُمْ:‏‏‏‏ الْحَكَمُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏أَوْ ابْنُ الْحَكَمِ.

When the Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم urinated, he performed ablution and sprinkled water on private parts of the body. Abu Dawud said: A group of scholars agreed with Sufyan upon this chain of narrators. Some have mentioned the name of Sufyan bin al-Hakam, and others al-Hakam bin Sufyan.
