حَدَّثَنَا مُسَدَّدٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا خَالِدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ أَبِي خَالِدٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَبِي أَوْفَى، ‏‏‏‏‏‏ أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ اعْتَمَرَ فَطَافَ بِالْبَيْتِ وَصَلَّى خَلْفَ الْمَقَامِ رَكْعَتَيْنِ وَمَعَهُ مَنْ يَسْتُرُهُ مِنَ النَّاسِ ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَقِيلَ لِعَبْدِ اللَّهِ:‏‏‏‏ أَدَخَلَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ الْكَعْبَةَ ؟ قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ لَا.

The Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم performed ‘Umrah and went round the House (the Kaabah) and prayed behind the station (Maqam Ibrahim) two rak’ahs and he was accompanied by so many people that he was hidden by them. Abdullah bin Abi Aufa رضی اللہ عنہ was asked Did the Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم enter the Kaabah ? He replied “No”.
