حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ الْخَثْعَمِيُّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا حَجَّاجٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ:‏‏‏‏ أَخْبَرَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُنْكَدِرِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ سَمِعْتُ جَابِرَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ يَقُولُ:‏‏‏‏ قَرَّبْتُ لِلنَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ خُبْزًا وَلَحْمًا فَأَكَلَ ثُمَّ دَعَا بِوَضُوءٍ فَتَوَضَّأَ بِهِ ثُمَّ صَلَّى الظُّهْرَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏ثُمَّ دَعَا بِفَضْلِ طَعَامِهِ فَأَكَلَ ثُمَّ قَامَ إِلَى الصَّلَاةِ وَلَمْ يَتَوَضَّأْ .

I heard Jabir bin Abdullah رضی اللہ عنہما say: I presented bread and meat to the Prophet صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم . He ate them and called for ablution water. he performed ablution and offered the noon (Dhuhr) prayer. He then called for the remaining food and ate it. He then got up and prayed and did not perform ablution.
