حَدَّثَنَا الْقَعْنَبِيُّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ مَالِكٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ أَبِيهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏أَنَّهُ قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ سُئِلَ أُسَامَةُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ وَأَنَا جَالِسٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏كَيْفَ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَسِيرُ فِي حَجَّةِ الْوَدَاعِ حِينَ دَفَعَ ؟ قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ كَانَ يَسِيرُ الْعَنَقَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَإِذَا وَجَدَ فَجْوَةً نَصَّ ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ هِشَامٌ:‏‏‏‏ النَّصُُ فَوْقَ الْعَنَقِ.

Usamah bin Zaid رضی اللہ عنہما was asked when I was sitting along with him, how did the Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم travel during the Farewell Pilgrimage when he proceeded from ‘Arafah to Al Muzdalifah? He replied he was travelling at a quick pace and when he found an opening he urged on his Camel. Hisham said “Nass (running or urging on the Camel) is above ‘anaq (going at a quick pace). ”
