حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ كَثِيرٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ صَلَّيْتُ مَعَ ابْنِ عُمَرَ الْمَغْرِبَ ثَلَاثًا وَالْعِشَاءَ رَكْعَتَيْنِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَقَالَ لَهُ مَالِكُ بْنُ الْحَارِثِ:‏‏‏‏ مَا هَذِهِ الصَّلَاةُ ؟ قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ صَلَّيْتُهُمَا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي هَذَا الْمَكَانِ بِإِقَامَةٍ وَاحِدَةٍ .

I offered three rak'ahs of the sunset prayer and two rak'ahs of the night prayer along with Ibn Umar رضی اللہ عنہما . Thereupon Malik ibn al-Harith said: What is this prayer? He said: I offered these prayers along with the Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم in this place with a single iqamah.
