حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ كَثِيرٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ مَيْمُونٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ قَالَ عُمَرُ بْنُ الْخَطَّابِ:‏‏‏‏ كَانَ أَهْلُ الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ لَا يُفِيضُونَ حَتَّى يَرَوْا الشَّمْسَ عَلَى ثَبِيرٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَخَالَفَهُمُ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَدَفَعَ قَبْلَ طُلُوعِ الشَّمْسِ .

The Arabs in the pre-Islamic period did not return from al-Muzdalifah till they saw sunlight at the mountain Thabir. The Prophet صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم opposed them and returned before the sunrise.
