حَدَّثَنَا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ نُمَيْرٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَأَبُو أُسَامَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ نَافِعٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ ابْنِ عُمَرَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ اسْتَأْذَنَ الْعَبَّاسُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنْ يَبِيتَ بِمَكَّةَ لَيَالِيَ مِنًى مِنْ أَجْلِ سِقَايَتِهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَأَذِنَ لَهُ .

Al-Abbas رضی اللہ عنہ sought permission from the Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم to pass the night at Makkah during the period of his stay at Mina for distributing water among the people. He gave him permission.
