حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا بَدَلُ بْنُ الْمُحَبَّرِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏أَخْبَرَنَا شُعْبَةُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ الْعَلَاءِ ابْنَ أَخِي شُعَيْبٍ الرَّازِيِّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيلَ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ رَجُلٍ مِنْ بَنِي سُلَيْمٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ خَطَبْتُ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أُمَامَةَ بِنْتَ عَبْدِ الْمُطَّلِبِ فَأَنْكَحَنِي مِنْ غَيْرِ أَنْ يَتَشَهَّدَ.

On the authority of a man from Banu Sulaim: I asked the Prophet صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم to marry Umamah daughter of Abdul-Muttalib to me. So he married her to me without reciting the tashahhud (i.e. the sermon for marriage).
