حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْمَرْوَزِيُّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنِي عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْحُسَيْنِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ أَبِيهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ يَزِيدَ النَّحْوِيِّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ إِلا تَنْفِرُوا يُعَذِّبْكُمْ عَذَابًا أَلِيمًا سورة التوبة آية 39، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَ مَا كَانَ لأَهْلِ الْمَدِينَةِ إِلَى قَوْلِهِ يَعْمَلُونَ سورة التوبة آية 120 ـ 121 نَسَخَتْهَا الْآيَةُ الَّتِي تَلِيهَا وَمَا كَانَ الْمُؤْمِنُونَ لِيَنْفِرُوا كَافَّةً سورة التوبة آية 122.

Nor should the believers all go forth together. ”
