حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ مَعِينٍ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الصَّمَدِ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْوَارِثِ، حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ الْمُغِيرَةِ، حَدَّثَنَا حُمَيْدُ بْنُ هِلَالٍ، عَنْ بِشْرِ بْنِ عَاصِمٍ، عَنْ عُقْبَةَ بْنِ مَالِكٍ مِنْ رَهْطِهِ، قَالَ: بَعَثَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ سَرِيَّةً فَسَلَحْتُ رَجُلًا مِنْهُمْ سَيْفًا، فَلَمَّا رَجَعَ قَالَ: لَوْ رَأَيْتَ مَا لَامَنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، قَالَ: أَعَجَزْتُمْ إِذْ بَعَثْتُ رَجُلًا مِنْكُمْ، فَلَمْ يَمْضِ لِأَمْرِي أَنْ تَجْعَلُوا مَكَانَهُ مَنْ يَمْضِي لِأَمْرِي .
