حَدَّثَنَا هَنَّادُ بْنُ السَّرِيِّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ عَبْدَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنِ ابْنِ إِسْحَاقَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ الزُّهْرِيِّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ عُرْوَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ عَائِشَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏أَنَّ أُمَّ حَبِيبَةَ بِنْتَ جَحْشٍ اسْتُحِيضَتْ فِي عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَأَمَرَهَا بِالْغُسْلِ لِكُلِّ صَلَاةٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَسَاقَ الْحَدِيثَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ أَبُو دَاوُد:‏‏‏‏ وَرَوَاهُ أَبُو الْوَلِيدِ الطَّيَالِسِيُّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَلَمْ أَسْمَعْهُ مِنْهُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ كَثِيرٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ الزُّهْرِيّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ عُرْوَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ عَائِشَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَتْ:‏‏‏‏ اسْتُحِيضَتْ زَيْنَبُ بِنْتُ جَحْشٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَقَالَ لَهَا النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:‏‏‏‏ اغْتَسِلِي لِكُلِّ صَلَاةٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَسَاقَ الْحَدِيثَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ أَبُو دَاوُد:‏‏‏‏ وَرَوَاهُ عَبْدُ الصَّمَدِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ كَثِيرٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ تَوَضَّئِي لِكُلِّ صَلَاةٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ أَبُو دَاوُد:‏‏‏‏ وَهَذَا وَهْمٌ مِنْ عَبْدِ الصَّمَدِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَالْقَوْلُ فِيهِ قَوْلُ أَبِي الْوَلِيدِ.

Umm Habibah had a prolonged flow of blood during the time of Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم. He commanded her to take bath for every prayer. The narrator then transmitted the tradition (in full). Abu Dawud said: It has also been narrated by Abu al-Walid al-Tayalisi, but I did not hear him. He reported it from Aishah through a different chain of narrators. Aishah رضی اللہ عنہا said: Zainab daughter of Jahsh رضی اللہ عنہا had a prolonged flow of blood. The Prophet صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم said to her: Take bath for every prayer. The narrator then reported the tradition (in full). Abu Dawud said: The version transmitted by Abdul-Samad from Sulaiman bin Kathir has: Perform ablution for every prayer. This is a misunderstanding on the part of Abd al-Samad. The correct version is the one narrated by Abu al-Walid.
