حَدَّثَنَا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْفُضَيْلِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ الْوَلِيدِ بْنِ جُمَيْعٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ أَبِي الطُّفَيْلِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ جَاءَتْ فَاطِمَةُ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهَا إِلَىأَبِي بَكْرٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ تَطْلُبُ مِيرَاثَهَا مِنَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ فَقَالَ أَبُو بَكْرٍرَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ:‏‏‏‏ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ:‏‏‏‏ إِنَّ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ إِذَا أَطْعَمَ نَبِيًّا طُعْمَةً فَهِيَ لِلَّذِي يَقُومُ مِنْ بَعْدِهِ .

Fatimah رضی اللہ عنہا came to Abu Bakr رضی اللہ عنہ asking him for the inheritance of the Prophet صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم. Abu Bakr رضی اللہ عنہ said: I heard the Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم say: If Allah, Most High, gives a Prophet some means of sustenance, that goes to his successor.
