حَدَّثَنَا زِيَادُ بْنُ أَيُّوبَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا هُشَيْمٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو بِشْرٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ عِكْرِمَةِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏أَنَّ أُمَّ حَبِيبَةَ بِنْتَ جَحْشٍ اسْتُحِيضَتْ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏ فَأَمَرَهَا النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنْ تَنْتَظِرَ أَيَّامَ أَقْرَائِهَا، ‏‏‏‏‏‏ثُمَّ تَغْتَسِلُ وَتُصَلِّي، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَإِنْ رَأَتْ شَيْئًا مِنْ ذَلِكَ تَوَضَّأَتْ وَصَلَّتْ .

Umm Habibah daughter of Jahsh رضی اللہ عنہا had a prolonged flow of blood. The Prophet صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم commanded her to refrain (from prayer) during her menstrual period; then she should wash and pray, if she sees anything (which renders ablution void) she should perform ablution and pray.
