حَدَّثَنَا مُسَدَّدٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ أَبِي يَحْيَى، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنِي عِكْرِمَةُ أَنَّهُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏رَأَى ابْنَ عَبَّاسٍ يَأْتَزِرُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَيَضَعُ حَاشِيَةَ إِزَارِهِ مِنْ مُقَدَّمِهِ عَلَى ظَهْرِ قَدَمَيْهِ وَيَرْفَعُ مِنْ مُؤَخَّرِهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قُلْتُ:‏‏‏‏ لِمَ تَأْتَزِرُ هَذِهِ الْإِزْرَةَ ؟ قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَأْتَزِرُهَا .

He saw Ibn Abbas رضی اللہ عنہما putting on lower garment, letting the hem on the top of his foot and raising it behind. He said: Why do you put on the lower garment in this way? He replied: It is how I saw the Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم do it.
