حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى بْنِ فَارِسٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ قَالَ مَعْمَرٌ وَكَانَ الزُّهْرِيُّ يُنْكِرُ الدِّبَاغَ وَيَقُولُ:‏‏‏‏ يُسْتَمْتَعُ بِهِ عَلَى كُلِّ حَالٍ ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ أَبُو دَاوُد:‏‏‏‏ لَمْ يَذْكُرْ الْأَوْزَاعِيُّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَيُونُسُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَعُقَيْلٌ فِي حَدِيثِ الزُّهْرِيِّ الدِّبَاغَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَذَكَرَهُ الزُّبَيْدِيُّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَسَعِيدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَحَفْصُ بْنُ الْوَلِيدِ ذَكَرُوا الدِّبَاغَ.

Al-Zuhri used to deny tanning and say: Some good can be got out of it in any condition Abu Dawud said: Al-Auzai, Yunus and 'Uqail did not mention tanning. al-Zubaidi, Saeed bin Abdul-Aziz and Hafs bin Walid mentioned tanning.
