حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ صَالِحٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا عَنْبَسَةُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنِي يُونُسُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنِي حُمَيْدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏أَنَّ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:‏‏‏‏ يَتَقَارَبُ الزَّمَانُ وَيَنْقُصُ الْعِلْمُ وَتَظْهَرُ الْفِتَنُ وَيُلْقَى الشُّحُّ وَيَكْثُرُ الْهَرْجُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قِيلَ:‏‏‏‏ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ أَيَّةُ هُوَ ؟ قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ الْقَتْلُ الْقَتْلُ .

The Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم as saying: The time will become short, knowledge will be decreased, civil strife (fitan) will appear, niggardliness will be case into people's heart, and harj will be prevalent. He was asked: Messenger of Allah! what is it: He replied: Slaughter, slaughter.
