حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ مُعَاذٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا الْمَسْعُودِيُّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنِ الْقَاسِمِ بِهَذِهِ الْقِصَّةِ قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ فَلَمْ يَنْزِلْ حَتَّى ضُرِبَ عُنُقُهُ وَمَا اسْتَتَابَهُ.

He did not dismount until his head had been chopped off, and he did not ask him to repent.
