حَدَّثَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ عَوْنٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ أَخْبَرَنَا. ح وحَدَّثَنَا مُسَدَّدٌ،‏‏‏‏ وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مَحْبُوبٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالُوا:‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَوَانَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ أَبِي عُثْمَانَ وَسَمَّاهُ ابْنُ مَحْبُوبٍ الْجَعْدَ،‏‏‏‏ عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ لَهُ:‏‏‏‏ يَا بُنَيَّ ،‏‏‏‏ قَالَ أبو داود:‏‏‏‏ سَمِعْتُ يَحْيَى بْنَ مَعِينٍ يُثْنِي عَلَى مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ مَحْبُوبٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَيَقُولُ:‏‏‏‏ كَثِيرُ الْحَدِيثِ.

The Prophet صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم said to him: My sonny. Abu Dawud said: I heard Yahya bin Main praising the transmitter Muhammad bin Mahbub, and he said: He transmitted a large number of traditions.
