حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ حَبِيبٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا رَوْحٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ أَخْبَرَنِي عَطَاءٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ عُبَيْدِ بْنِ عُمَيْرٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏أَنَّ أَبَا مُوسَىاسْتَأْذَنَ عَلَى عُمَرَ بِهَذِهِ الْقِصَّةِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ فِيهِ:‏‏‏‏ فَانْطَلَقَ بأَبِي سَعِيدٍ فَشَهِدَ لَهُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَقَالَ:‏‏‏‏ أَخَفِيَ عَلَيَّ هَذَا مِنْ أَمْرِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏أَلْهَانِي السَّفْقُ بِالْأَسْوَاقِ وَلَكِنْ سَلِّمْ مَا شِئْتَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَلَا تَسْتَأْذِنْ.

Abu Musa رضی اللہ عنہ asked Umar رضی اللہ عنہ for permission to enter the house. This version has: he went with Abu sa’eed who testified to it. He said Did this practice of the Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم remain hidden from me? My engagement in the transaction in the market made me oblivious of it. Now give me salutation as you wish; and do not ask permission.
