حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ إِدْرِيسَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَخَالِي يَعْلَى، ‏‏‏‏‏‏ وَوَكِيعٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيل، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ قَيْسٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ سَمِعْتُ سَعْدَ بْنَ أَبِي وَقَّاصٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏يَقُولُ:‏‏‏‏ إِنِّي لَأَوَّلُ الْعَرَبِ رَمَى بِسَهْمٍ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ .

I heard Sa'd bin Abu Waqqas رضی اللہ عنہ say: 'I am the first of the Arabs to shoot an arrow in the cause of Allah.'
