حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ نُمَيْرٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا حَفْصُ بْنُ غِيَاثٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏ وَأَسْبَاطُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَا:‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنَا الْأَعْمَشُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ عَلْقَمَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ أَبِي مَسْعُودٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:‏‏‏‏ الْآيَتَانِ مِنْ آخِرِ سُورَةِ الْبَقَرَةِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏مَنْ قَرَأَهُمَا فِي لَيْلَةٍ كَفَتَاهُ ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ حَفْصٌ فِي حَدِيثِهِ:‏‏‏‏ قَالَ عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ:‏‏‏‏ فَلَقِيتُ أَبَا مَسْعُودٍ وَهُوَ يَطُوفُ فَحَدَّثَنِي بِهِ.

The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: “Whoever recites the last two Verses of Surat Al-Baqarah at night, that will be sufficient for him.” In his narration (one of the narrators) Hafs said: “`Abdur-Rahman said: ‘I met Abu Mas`ud رضی اللہ عنہ when he was performing Tawaf, and he narrated this to me.’”
