حَدَّثَنَا يَعْقُوبُ بْنُ حُمَيْدِ بْنِ كَاسِبٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا الْمُغِيرَةُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الْمَخْزُومِيُّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ أَبِي عُبَيْدٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ سَلَمَةَ بْنِ الْأَكْوَعِ:‏‏‏‏ أَنَّهُ كَانَ يَأْتِي إِلَى سُبْحَةِ الضُّحَى، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَيَعْمِدُ إِلَى الْأُسْطُوَانَةِ دُونَ الْمُصْحَفِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَيُصَلِّ قَرِيبًا مِنْهَا، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَأَقُولُ لَهُ:‏‏‏‏ أَلَا تُصَلِّي هَا هُنَا وَأُشِيرُ إِلَى بَعْضِ نَوَاحِي الْمَسْجِدِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَيَقُولُ:‏‏‏‏ إِنِّي رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَتَحَرَّى هَذَا الْمُقَامَ .

He used to offer the Duha prayer, and he would come to the pillar that was near the Mushaf. I said to him: “Why do you not pray over there?” And I pointed to some corner of the mosque. He said: “I saw the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) seeking out this place.”
