حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ نُمَيْرٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو النَّضْرِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ شُعْبَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَبِي السَّفَرِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ سَمِعْتُالشَّعْبِيَّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏يَقُولُ:‏‏‏‏ جَالَسْتُ ابْنَ عُمَرَ سَنَةً فَمَا سَمِعْتُهُ يُحَدِّثُ عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ شَيْئًا .

I heard Ash-Sha'bi saying: 'I sat with Ibn 'Umar رضی اللہ عنہما for a year and I did not hear him narrate anything from the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ)
