حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا خَالِي يَعْلَى، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَوْنٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ نَافِعٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ ابْنِ عُمَرَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ اسْتَقْبَلَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ الْحَجَرَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏ثُمَّ وَضَعَ شَفَتَيْهِ عَلَيْهِ يَبْكِي طَوِيلًا، ‏‏‏‏‏‏ثُمَّ الْتَفَتَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَإِذَا هُوَ بِعُمَرَ بْنِ الْخَطَّابِ يَبْكِي، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَقَالَ يَا عُمَرُ:‏‏‏‏ هَاهُنَا تُسْكَبُ الْعَبَرَاتُ .

“The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) turned to face the Stone, then he put his lips on it and wept for a long time. Then he turned and saw ‘Umar bin Khattab رضی اللہ عنہ weeping. He said: ‘O ‘Umar, this is the place where tears should be shed.’”
