حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيل بْنُ أَسَدٍ،‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنَا جَعْفَرُ بْنُ عَوْنٍ،‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيل بْنُ أَبِي خَالِدٍ،‏‏‏‏ عَنْ قَيْسِ بْنِ أَبِي حَازِمٍ،‏‏‏‏ عَنْ أَبِي مَسْعُودٍ،‏‏‏‏ قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ أَتَى النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ رَجُلٌ فَكَلَّمَهُ،‏‏‏‏ فَجَعَلَ تُرْعَدُ فَرَائِصُهُ،‏‏‏‏ فَقَالَ لَهُ:‏‏‏‏ هَوِّنْ عَلَيْكَ،‏‏‏‏ فَإِنِّي لَسْتُ بِمَلِكٍ،‏‏‏‏ إِنَّمَا أَنَا ابْنُ امْرَأَةٍ تَأْكُلُ الْقَدِيدَ ،‏‏‏‏ قَالَ أَبُو عَبْد اللَّهِ:‏‏‏‏ إِسْمَاعِيل وَحْدَهُ،‏‏‏‏ وَصَلَهُ.

“A man came to the Prophet (ﷺ), so he spoke to him, and he started to tremble with awe. He said to him: ‘Take it easy. I am not a king; I am just a man whose mother ate dried meat.’” Abu Abdullah said: Ismail alone has narrated (this hadith) with a complete chain of narrators.
