حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ،‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ،‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَارِثِ،‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنَا حَبِيبٌ الْمُعَلِّمُ،‏‏‏‏ عَنْ أَبِي الْمُهَزِّمِ،‏‏‏‏ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ،‏‏‏‏ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ،‏‏‏‏ أَنَّ ّالنَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ،‏‏‏‏ قَالَ فِي ذُيُولِ النِّسَاءِ:‏‏‏‏ شِبْرًا ،‏‏‏‏ فَقَالَتْ:‏‏‏‏ عَائِشَةُ:‏‏‏‏ إِذًا تَخْرُجَ سُوقُهُنَّ،‏‏‏‏ قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ فَذِرَاعٌ .

The Prophet (ﷺ) said, concerning how long a woman’s hem should hang down: “A hand span.” ‘Aishah رضی اللہ عنہا said: “This may show her calves.” He said: “Then a forearm’s length.”
