حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ،‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُسْهِرٍ،‏‏‏‏ عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ أَبِي زِيَادٍ،‏‏‏‏ عَنْ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ سُهَيْلٍ،‏‏‏‏ عَنْ ابْنِ عُمَرَ،‏‏‏‏ قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ نَهَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنِ الْمُفَدَّمِ ،‏‏‏‏ قَالَ يَزِيدُ:‏‏‏‏ قُلْتُ لِلْحَسَنِ:‏‏‏‏ مَا الْمُفَدَّمُ؟ قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ الْمُشْبَعُ بِالْعُصْفُرِ.

“The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) forbade Al-Mufaddam.” (One of the narrators) Yazid said: "I said to Hasan: What is Al-Muffaddam?' He said: '(Clothes) that are dyed with Safflower (i.e., red dyestuff prepare from its flower heads).'"
