حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ،‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ،‏‏‏‏ عَنْ شُعْبَةَ،‏‏‏‏ عَنْ أَبِي التَّيَّاحِ،‏‏‏‏ قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ سَمِعْتُ أَنَسَ بْنَ مَالِكٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏يَقُولُ:‏‏‏‏ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُخَالِطُنَا،‏‏‏‏ حَتَّى يَقُول لِأَخٍ لِي صَغِيرٍ:‏‏‏‏ يَا أَبَا عُمَيْرٍ،‏‏‏‏ مَا فَعَلَ النُّغَيْ؟ ،‏‏‏‏ قَالَ وَكِيعٌ:‏‏‏‏ يَعْنِي طَيْرًا كَانَ يَلْعَبُ بِهِ.

I heard Anas Bin Malik رضی اللہ عنہ say: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) used to mix with us so much that he said to a little brother of mine: O Abu `Umair, what happened to the Nughair (one of the narrators Waki` said that it means a bird that he used to play with).
