حَدَّثَنَا مَحْمُودُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ الدِّمَشْقِيُّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا الْوَلِيدُ بْنُ مُسْلِمٍ الدِّمَشْقِيُّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنِ ابْنِ ثَوْبَانَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ عَبْدَةَ بْنِ أَبِي لُبَابَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ شَقِيقِ بْنِ سَلَمَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ رَأَيْتُ عُثْمَانَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏ وَعَلِيًّا يَتَوَضَّآَنِ ثَلَاثًا ثَلَاثًا، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَيَقُولَانِ:‏‏‏‏ هَكَذَا كَانَ وُضُوءُ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ .

I saw `Uthman and `Ali رضی اللہ عنہما performing ablution, washing each part three times, and they said: 'This is how the Messenger of Allah used to perform ablution.' (Hasan) Another chain with similar wording.
