حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْأَحْوَصِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاق، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ أَبِي حَيَّةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ رَأَيْتُ عَلِيًّا تَوَضَّأَ فَغَسَلَ قَدَمَيْهِ إِلَى الْكَعْبَيْنِ ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏ثُمَّ قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ أَرَدْتُ أَنْ أُرِيَكُمْ طُهُورَ نَبِيِّكُمْ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ .

I saw 'Ali رضی اللہ عنہ performing ablution and he washed his feet up to the ankles, then he said: 'I wanted to show you how your Prophet purified himself.'
