حَدَّثَنَا يُوسُفُ بْنُ مُوسَى الْقَطَّانُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا جَرِيرٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ التَّيْمِيِّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ قَتَادَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ أَبِي غَلَّابٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ حِطَّانَ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الرَّقَاشِيِّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ أَبِي مُوسَى الْأَشْعَرِيِّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:‏‏‏‏ إِذَا قَرَأَ الْإِمَامُ فَأَنْصِتُوا، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَإِذَا كَانَ عِنْدَ الْقَعْدَةِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَلْيَكُنْ أَوَّلَ ذِكْرِ أَحَدِكُمُ التَّشَهُّدُ .

“The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: ‘When the Imam recites, then listen attentively, and if he is sitting (in the prayer) then the first remembrance that anyone of you recites should be the Tashahhud.’”
