حَدَّثَنَا أَزْهَرُ بْنُ مَرْوَانَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَارِثِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا أَيُّوبُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ نَافِعٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ ابْنِ عُمَرَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:‏‏‏‏ إِذَا وُضِعَ الْعَشَاءُ وَأُقِيمَتِ الصَّلَاةُ فَابْدَءُوا بِالْعَشَاءِ ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ فَتَعَشَّى ابْنُ عُمَرَ لَيْلَةً وَهُوَ يَسْمَعُ الْإِقَامَةَ.

“The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: ‘If food is served and the Iqamah for prayer is given, then start with the food.” He said: Ibn 'Umar رضی اللہ عنہما ate dinner one night while he could hear the Iqamah.
