وَعَن أبي سعيدٍ وجابرٍ قَالَا: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «الْغِيبَةُ أَشَدُّ مِنَ الزِّنَا» . قَالُوا: يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ وَكَيْفَ الْغِيبَةُ أَشَدُّ مِنَ الزِّنَا؟ قَالَ: «إِنَّ الرَّجُلَ لَيَزْنِي فَيَتُوبُ فَيَتُوبُ اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ» - وَفِي رِوَايَةٍ: «فَيَتُوبُ فَيَغْفِرُ اللَّهُ لَهُ وَإِنَّ صَاحِبَ الْغِيبَةِ لَا يُغْفَرُ لَهُ حَتَّى يغفِرَها لَهُ صَاحبه»
