حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ يُوسُفَ، حَدَّثَنَا اللَّيْثُ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي ابْنُ الْهَادِ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ خَبَّابٍ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ، قَالَ قُلْنَا يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ هَذَا التَّسْلِيمُ فَكَيْفَ نُصَلِّي عَلَيْكَ قَالَ ‏"‏ قُولُوا اللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ عَبْدِكَ وَرَسُولِكَ، كَمَا صَلَّيْتَ عَلَى آلِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، وَبَارِكْ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَعَلَى آلِ مُحَمَّدٍ كَمَا بَارَكْتَ عَلَى إِبْرَاهِيمَ ‏"‏‏.‏ قَالَ أَبُو صَالِحٍ عَنِ اللَّيْثِ ‏"‏ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَعَلَى آلِ مُحَمَّدٍ، كَمَا بَارَكْتَ عَلَى آلِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ‏"‏‏.‏ حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ حَمْزَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي حَازِمٍ، وَالدَّرَاوَرْدِيُّ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ، وَقَالَ، ‏"‏ كَمَا صَلَّيْتَ عَلَى إِبْرَاهِيمَ، وَبَارِكْ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَآلِ مُحَمَّدٍ كَمَا بَارَكْتَ عَلَى إِبْرَاهِيمَ وَآلِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ‏"‏‏.‏

We said, "O Allah's Messenger (ﷺ)! It is how to salute you, but how should we convey blessing to you? He ﷺ said: O Allah! Bestow blessings on Hadrat Muhammad ﷺ who is your Bondsman and Apostle as you bestowed on the progeny of Hadrat Ibrahim and grant Hadrat Muhammad ﷺ and the progeny of Hadrat Muhammad ﷺ favours as you granted Hadrat Ibrahim favours. Abu Shualih has reported from Laith in this way: On Hadrat Muhammad ﷺ and the progeny of Hadrat Muhammad ﷺ as you bestowed favour on the progeny of Hadrat Ibrahim. Ibn-e-Abu Hazim and Darawardi have reported from Yazeed bin Hammad that he ﷺ said: As you bestowed blessings on Hadrat Ibrahim and confer favours on Hadrat Muhammad ﷺ and the progeny of Hadrat Muhammad ﷺ as you conferred the favours on Hadrat Ibrahim and the progeny of Hadrat Ibrahim.
