حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى، وَابْنُ بَشَّارٍ، قَالَ ابْنُ الْمُثَنَّى: حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ، قَالَ: قَالَ عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ شَقِيقٍ: كَانَ عُثْمَانُ يَنْهَى عَنِ الْمُتْعَةِ، وَكَانَ عَلِيٌّ يَأْمُرُ بِهَا، فَقَالَ عُثْمَانُ لِعَلِيٍّ: كَلِمَةً، ثُمَّ قَالَ عَلِيٌّ: لَقَدْ عَلِمْتَ أَنَّا قَدْ تَمَتَّعْنَا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فَقَالَ: أَجَلْ، وَلَكِنَّا كُنَّا خَائِفِينَ.
