وحَدَّثَنِيهِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، بِهَذَا الْإِسْنَادِ، قَالَ عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ: قَالَ سُفْيَانُ: «لَا أَدْرِي هَذَا فِي الْحَدِيثِ أَمْ لَا، يَعْنِي أَنْ يَتَخَوَّنَهُمْ، أَوْ يَلْتَمِسَ عَثَرَاتِهِمْ».
