وحَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ نُمَيْرٍ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي، حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللهِ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ، قَالَ: سَأَلَ رَجُلٌ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَهُوَ عَلَى الْمِنْبَرِ، عَنْ أَكْلِ الضَّبِّ، فَقَالَ: «لَا آكُلُهُ، وَلَا أُحَرِّمُهُ».

A person asked Allah's Messenger ( ‌صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ‌) as he was sitting on the pulpit about the eating of the lizard, whereupon he said: I neither eat it, nor do I prohibit it.
