وحَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ يَحْيَى، أَخْبَرَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ، عَنْ ثَابِتٍ، قَالَ: قُلْتُ لِابْنِ عُمَرَ: نَهَى رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنْ نَبِيذِ الْجَرِّ؟، قَالَ: فَقَالَ: «قَدْ زَعَمُوا ذَاكَ»، قُلْتُ: أَنَهَى عَنْهُ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ؟ قَالَ: «قَدْ زَعَمُوا ذَاكَ».

I said to Ibn 'Umar رضی اللہ عنہ that Allah's Messenger ( ‌صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ‌) had forbidden the preparation of Nabidh in the green pitcher (besmeared with pitch). He said: This is what they stated. I said: Did Allah's Messenger ( ‌صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ) forbid this? He said: They said so.
