حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو دَاوُدَ سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ مَعْبَدٍ، حَدَّثَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ عَاصِمٍ، حَدَّثَنَا هَمَّامٌ، حَدَّثَنَا قَتَادَةُ، قَالَ: قُلْتُ لِأَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ: مَنْ جَمَعَ الْقُرْآنَ عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ؟ قَالَ: أَرْبَعَةٌ، كُلُّهُمْ مِنَ الْأَنْصَارِ: أُبَيُّ بْنُ كَعْبٍ، وَمُعَاذُ بْنُ جَبَلٍ، وَزَيْدُ بْنُ ثَابِتٍ، وَرَجُلٌ مِنَ الْأَنْصَارِ يُكْنَى أَبَا زَيْدٍ.

Who collected the Qur'an during the lifetime of Allah's Messenger ( ‌صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ‌ )? He said: Four (persons), all of them belonging to Ansir: Ubayy bin Ka'b رضی اللہ عنہ , Mu'adh bin Jabal رضی اللہ عنہ , Zaid bin Thabit رضی اللہ عنہ and a person from the Ansar whose Kunya was Abu Zaid رضی اللہ عنہ.
