و حَدَّثَنِي إِسْحَقُ بْنُ عُمَرَ بْنِ سَلِيطٍ حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ الْمُغِيرَةِ حَدَّثَنَا حُمَيْدُ بْنُ هِلَالٍ عَنْ خَالِدِ بْنِ عُمَيْرٍ وَقَدْ أَدْرَكَ الْجَاهِلِيَّةَ قَالَ خَطَبَ عُتْبَةُ بْنُ غَزْوَانَ وَكَانَ أَمِيرًا عَلَى الْبَصْرَةِ فَذَكَرَ نَحْوَ حَدِيثِ شَيْبَانَ

He had seen the pre-Islamic days also, that 'Uqba bin Ghazwan رضی اللہ عنہ delivered this address and he was the governor of Basra. The rest of the hadith is the same as transmitted by Shaiban.
