أَخْبَرَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ عَلِيٍّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قال:‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنَا مُعَاذٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَيَحْيَى، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَا:‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنَا زُهَيْرٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قال:‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو إِسْحَاقَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ الْأَسْوَدِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ عَلْقَمَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَالْأَسْوَدِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مَسْعُودٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قال:‏‏‏‏ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُكَبِّرُ فِي كُلِّ خَفْضٍ وَرَفْعٍ وَيُسَلِّمُ عَنْ يَمِينِهِ وَعَنْ يَسَارِهِ وَكَانَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَعُمَرُ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا يَفْعَلَانِهِ .

The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) used to say the takbir every time he went down and came up, and he would say the Salam to his right and his left. And Abu Bakr and 'Umar رضی اللہ عنہم used to do likewise.
