أَخْبَرَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ حُجْرٍ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ هُوَ ابْنُ جَعْفَرٍ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ حَلْحَلَةَ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ عَطَاءٍ، أَنَّ سَلَمَةَ بْنَ الْأَزْرَقِ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ، قَالَ: مَاتَ مَيِّتٌ مِنْ آلِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَاجْتَمَعَ النِّسَاءُ يَبْكِينَ عَلَيْهِ، فَقَامَ عُمَرُ يَنْهَاهُنَّ وَيَطْرُدُهُنَّ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: دَعْهُنَّ يَا عُمَرُ فَإِنَّ الْعَيْنَ دَامِعَةٌ، وَالْقَلْبَ مُصَابٌ، وَالْعَهْدَ قَرِيبٌ .
