أَخْبَرَنَا هَنَّادُ بْنُ السَّرِيِّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ أَبِي مُحَيَّاةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ سَلَمَةَ بْنِ كُهَيْلٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ يَعْنِي ابْنَ يَزِيدَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ قِيلَ لِعَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مَسْعُودٍ إِنَّ نَاسًا يَرْمُونَ الْجَمْرَةَ مِنْ فَوْقِ الْعَقَبَةِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ فَرَمَى عَبْدُ اللَّهِ مِنْ بَطْنِ الْوَادِي، ‏‏‏‏‏‏ثُمَّ قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ مِنْ هَا هُنَا وَالَّذِي لَا إِلَهَ غَيْرُهُ رَمَى الَّذِي أُنْزِلَتْ عَلَيْهِ سُورَةُ الْبَقَرَةِ .

It was said to Abdullah bin Masud رضی الله عنہ that: Some people were stoning the Jamart from above al-Aqabah. He said: So Abdullah stoned it from the bottom of the valley, then he said: 'From here - by the One beside Whom there is no other God - did the one to whom surat Al-Baqarah was revealed, stone it.
