أَخْبَرَنَا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الذَّرَّاعُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُحْصَنٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنَا حُصَيْنٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنِ الشَّعْبِيِّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ عَدِيِّ بْنِ حَاتِمٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ سَأَلْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنْ صَيْدِ الْمِعْرَاضِ ؟، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَقَالَ:‏‏‏‏ إِذَا أَصَابَ بِحَدِّهِ فَكُلْ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَإِذَا أَصَابَ بِعَرْضِهِ فَلَا تَأْكُلْ .

I asked the Messenger of Allah ﷺ about hunting with the Mirad and the said: 'If the sharp edge hits (the game), then eat, but if the broad edge of it strikes it, do not eat it. '
