أَخْبَرَنَا هَارُونُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنَا الْأَسْوَدُ بْنُ عَامِرٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ أَنْبَأَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ حَيٍّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ مَنْصُورٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ الْحَكَمِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ عَطَاءٍ،‏‏‏‏ وَمُجَاهِدٍ،‏‏‏‏ عَنْ أَيْمَنَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ يُقْطَعُ السَّارِقُ فِي ثَمَنِ الْمِجَنِّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَكَانَ ثَمَنُ الْمِجَنِّ عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ دِينَارًا أَوْ عَشْرَةَ دَرَاهِمَ .

The (hand of) a thief is to be cut off for the price of a shield, and the price of a shield during the time of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was a Dinar, or ten Dirhams.
