أَخْبَرَنَا سُوَيْدٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ أَنْبَأَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ أَنْبَأَنَا الْأَسْوَدُ بْنُ شَيْبَانَ السَّدُوسِيُّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ سَمِعْتُ عَطَاءً،‏‏‏‏ سَأَلَهُ رَجُلٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَقَالَ:‏‏‏‏ إِنَّا نَرْكَبُ أَسْفَارًا فَتُبْرَزُ لَنَا الْأَشْرِبَةُ فِي الْأَسْوَاقِ لَا نَدْرِي أَوْعِيَتَهَا ؟ فَقَالَ:‏‏‏‏ كُلُّ مُسْكِرٍ حَرَامٌ ،‏‏‏‏ فَذَهَبَ يُعِيدُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَقَالَ:‏‏‏‏ كُلُّ مُسْكِرٍ حَرَامٌ ،‏‏‏‏ فَذَهَبَ يُعِيدُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَقَالَ:‏‏‏‏ هُوَ مَا أَقُولُ لَكَ .

Al-Aswad bin Shaiban As-Sadusi said: I heard 'Ata' being asked by a man: 'We travel and drinks are offered to us in the marketplaces, and we do not know what kind of vessels they were prepared in.' He said: 'Every intoxicant is unlawful.' He repeated the question and he said: 'Every intoxicant is unlawful.' He repeated the question and he said: 'It is as I have told you.'
