حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاق بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيل الطَّالَقَانِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا جَرِيرٌ. ح وحَدَّثَنَا زُهَيْرُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ، حَدَّثَنَا جَرِيرٌ، عَنِ الْمُغِيرَةِ، عَنِ الرَّبِيعِ بْنِ خَالِدٍ الضَّبِّيِّ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ الْحَجَّاجَ يَخْطُبُ، فَقَالَ فِي خُطْبَتِهِ: رَسُولُ أَحَدِكُمْ فِي حَاجَتِهِ أَكْرَمُ عَلَيْهِ أَمْ خَلِيفَتُهُ فِي أَهْلِهِ ؟ فَقُلْتُ فِي نَفْسِي لِلَّهِ: عَلَيَّ أَلَّا أُصَلِّيَ خَلْفَكَ صَلَاةً أَبَدًا، وَإِنْ وَجَدْتُ قَوْمًا يُجَاهِدُونَكَ لَأُجَاهِدَنَّكَ مَعَهُمْ، زَادَ إِسْحَاق فِي حَدِيثِهِ: قَالَ: فَقَاتَلَ فِي الْجَمَاجِمِ حَتَّى قُتِلَ .
