حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مَنِيعٍ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ، عَنْ الزُّهْرِيِّ، سَمِعَ سَعِيدَ بْنَ الْمُسَيِّبِ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، يَبْلُغُ بِهِ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ أَسْرِعُوا بِالْجَنَازَةِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَإِنْ يَكُنْ خَيْرًا تُقَدِّمُوهَا إِلَيْهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَإِنْ يَكُنْ شَرًّا تَضَعُوهُ عَنْ رِقَابِكُمْ . وَفِي الْبَاب:‏‏‏‏ عَنْ أَبِي بَكْرَةَ. قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى:‏‏‏‏ حَدِيثُ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ.

Abu Hurairah narrated that: The Prophet said: Hurry up with the funeral (procession) for if it was good, you are advancing it to good, and if it was evil, then you are taking it off your necks.
